The Role
It’s an exciting time to join Mitte. As we move closer to our launch date, we are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer with a strong track record, preferably in a start-up setting.
The role of our new CFO’s role is both in- and outward-facing:
Internally, the CFO will provide the perspective of our financial strategy to the C-Level and be an expert in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. The successful candidate will lead our experienced and growing Finance & Accounting team and be in close contact with the extended leadership team of all functions.
Externally, our CFO will liaise with key external partners with a focus on fundraising and shareholder management, as well as key accounting with major financially relevant partners such as banks and suppliers, and clients.

Your contribution
- Act as Chief Financial Officer and strategic business partner to C-Level and the extended leadership team and communicate, engage, and interact with our investors.
- Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models.
- Interact with and bring the department into line with the strategic board of Directors’ plans, initiatives, and recommendations and implement policies, procedures, and processes as deemed appropriate.
- Assess and evaluate financial performance of our organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plans of the organization.
- Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information.
- Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion.
- Support the CEO during Fundraising with “financial storytelling”, pitching, preparation of financial data, running Due Diligences, and supporting in legal negotiations
- Leverage own network of existing and potential investors, clients, and external advisors.
- Recruit, interview, and hire finance, accounting, and payroll staff as required.
Financial Analysis, Budgeting, and Forecasting
- Lead, guide, and present the preparation for monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division.
- Drive the annual company budgeting process and maintain monthly operating budgets
- Review and analyse monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
- Identify, develop, and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches, and/or new service offerings.
- Supervise and manage the creation of reports, software implementation, and tools for budgeting and forecasting.
Accounting, Administration, and Operations
- Oversee the preparation and communication of weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements, ensure timelines and accuracy.
- Work with the People & Culture Team to ensure appropriate legal compliance.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits.
Financial Management
- Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.
- Oversee tax and treasury
- Oversee cash, investments, and asset management area.
- Explore new investment opportunities and provide recommendations on potential returns and risks.
- Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners.
- Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organisation’s plans and operating budgets.
Relevant Experience
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence, and a strong ability to motivate staff
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in setting up efficient reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) tools
- Experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues
- Strong track record: 6 years of minimum experience as a CFO in a fast-growing organisation
- C1 level German level and knowledge of solid knowledge of tax system is required
