Mitte is on a mission to provide healthy hydration for Every Body. Having created the world's first smart water system inspired by the natural water cycle, we are driven to reinvent the way water is consumed globally. Our solution allows users to create personalized mineralized water at home, giving them control over their drinking water while minimizing plastic wastage. We are launching in 2021 and our product offer will be extended into an ecosystem covering all user touch-points from home, on-the-go and at work.
The Role
It's an exciting time to join Mitte. As we move closer to our launch date, we are looking for a Water Chemist to join our team.
With your experience, eagerness to learn and passion for problem-solving, you will be working closely with the water team and external partners to take an experimental deep dive into new mineralization and enhancement options to support the development of new Mitte mineral cartridges and other new water products.

Where you'll contribute
- Design and run experiments to prove initial feasibility of new mineralization, purification and enhancement options
- Use an experimental approach to get a deeper understanding of key parameters involved in the performance of the new options
- Set up scientific collaborations to provide short and long term support for the research and development
- Own and drive several research projects, carrying out the projects from planning to completion
- Contribute to process optimization, troubleshooting, investigation, and support for commercial manufacturing
- Identify potential problems during testing and providing potential solutions, using tools like FMEA
- Support and train more junior team members in order to accomplish research tasks
- Stay up-to-date on relevant scientific developments as they relate to our industry and products
Your profile
- PhD or Master with a background in Inorganic Chemistry, Mineralogy, Geochemistry or in a related field. Ideally with experience working in a non academic environment
- Strong experience in DOI, application experience in relevant analytical methods, laboratory instrumentation and techniques
- Proven track record in collecting, evaluating, analyzing, interpreting, sharing and reporting on scientific data
- Experience in water filtration and purification methods
- Ability to strategize and develop project plans and timelines for product development projects Self-motivated, hands-on mindset, with a willingness to contribute at all levels
- Innovative, data-driven, analytical thinker with strong interpersonal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of hardware engineering and programming and the ability to effectively communicate with HW and SW teams
- Proven skills in teaching and training
- You are able to speak and write English fluently
Nice to have
- Experience in science/research related to food and beverage
- Experience in (industrial) water treatment
- Previous experience working in a start-up or small team
- Experience with CFD
