A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a key member of our Global Water Practice team, this role will lead and oversee project origination, client development and team operation activities. The role will be primarily focused on client management with relationship-based marketing and project management.
- Lead client and project management for the Global Water Practice team.
- Lead and support all engineering, design and process improvement related to Global Water Practice projects.
- Assist with Global Water Practice team operations which includes, but is not limited to, marketing material preparation, active project staffing/management and technical oversight.
- Work with team members on project origination and client development activities; focused effort on understanding client concerns and/or problems and working closely with internal team members to develop and present comprehensive, unique solutions.
- Set up client meetings through personal and team networks to pre-position the group for upcoming projects, as well as share capabilities of Montrose with clients.
- Evaluate RFQ/RFP documents and assist with the development of responses.
- Identify process and system issues and lead all aspects of the steps required to achieve full facility/site optimization.
- Lead planning, procurement, scheduling and management of outside resources/vendors/contractors and manage all tasks to a predetermined budget/cost, as well as ensure accordance with regulatory standards.
- Source and summarize multiple vendor quotes / construction estimates for project tasks; summarize options to present to client and/or project team.
- Lead the quality control by preparing and approving designs, reports and work plans before client submittal.
- Responsible for obtaining required operational permits and programs to ensure compliance with environmental, local and state regulations; control compliance costs.
- Review and utilize lab data to aid in process optimization and environmental compliance for permits and company standards.
- Manage direct and/or indirect reports and addresses employee performance and expectations, as well as any employee concerns and escalates as needed.
- Oversee the training, mentoring and development of direct and/or indirect reports.
- Assist with project and task-specific safety protocols and work to ensure that all aspects of a project and/or process meet all company, local, state and federal safety requirements.
- Oversee and guide report preparation to summarize findings and/or outcomes of facility/process modifications; assist the team with other summary reporting required for internal and external purposes.
- Responsible for group compliance with company and governmental regulations and standards.
- Responsible for financial profitability of projects and tasks, preparing project profitability reports for financial analysis and monitoring cost control by reporting utilization and other administrative costs associated with projects.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and prepare cost estimates and proposals.
- Participate in local and national professional organizations; prepare, coordinate and present market and project-specific papers and presentations.
- Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
- Practice safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 15+ years of water and wastewater project experience.
- Professional Registration in Engineering.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Solid organization and time/project management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated).
- English language competency.
- Ability/willingness to travel as needed.
