About the role
This role offers an opportunity to join Myriota’s energetic and creative team to work closely with the VP, Finance who is responsible for the financial health of the business. You will play an integral and hands-on role in managing the organisation’s internal and external financial and management reporting requirements. Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the financial control of the business and help drive improvements in financial reporting
- Lead the month end financial close including consolidation of the Myriota Group
- Prepare annual financial statements and lead the annual audit
- Support income tax, GST and other relevant compliance filings in collaboration with tax agents and advisors
- Support management’s preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Continuous improvement of financial operations and processes to ensure functions effectively meet business needs
- Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll for Australian headquarters and foreign subsidiaries
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders supporting banking, insurance, compliance, software
Stuff we’ll trust you to do
- Ownership of Myriota’s general ledger and financial reporting function
- Ensuring stakeholders are well informed of financial matters
- Expanding the global financial footprint of the company
- Being the right hand to the VP, Finance
Stuff we’ll like about you
You are energetic and passionate about improving the financial health of a scaling business. You possess extremely well-developed communication skills, thrive in complex work environments and love to play with numbers and spreadsheets.
Other skills, knowledge or experience you can bring to this role include:
- CA qualification or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in a commercial environment or accounting practice
- Curious, keen to improve processes and develop technical knowledge to advance the capability of the finance function
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Problem solving, initiative and creativity
- Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-growing and evolving business
