NANO IRON, s.r.o. is engaged in supply of Zero Valent Iron nanoparticles (nZVI) and technical support in the application of groundwater remediation. The company disposes of a unique, environmentally friendly and wasteless technology enabling production of Fe(0) nanoparticles at the industrial scale with almost unlimited production capacity. 

In-situ application of zero-valent iron nanoparticles (nZVI, elemental iron nanoparticles) is a prospective technology for the decontamination of rock environment contaminated mainly by chlorinated hydrocarbons and heavy metals having very promising results in pilot experiments and field applications. Chemically, NZVI works in the same way like micro or macroscopic ZVI placed in permeable reactive barriers. In comparison to macroscopic iron fillings the advantage of iron nanoparticles lies in the small particle size and high specific surface area causing higher reactivity, better transportability in saturated zone, faster application and higher efficiency of decontamination process.
