We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager /Account Executive to sell our biodiversity monitoring solutions to companies in the industrials sector, with a focus on the extractives and infrastructure industries.
Senior Business Development Manager – The Role
- Develop & implement a sales strategy.
- Identify new sales opportunities.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager / Account Executive to join our sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling our biodiversity monitoring solutions to companies in the industrials sector, with a focus on the extractives and infrastructure industries. The Account Executive will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and closing deals to achieve sales targets.

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
The role will focus on working with key clients in the industrials sector and related industries. Experience in the extractives industries or work on large infrastructure projects is preferable. Knowledge of biodiversity loss and protection, protected species legislation, sustainability reporting frameworks, biodiversity offsetting and net gain will be a distinct advantage.
You may be working within Sustainability Tech, Carbon Accounting, Project Development or Renewable Energies and want to join a Climate Tech scale-up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve revenue targets in the industrials sector, with a focus on the mining, oil and gas, and/or infrastructure industries.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, leveraging a variety of techniques, including prospecting, lead generation, and referrals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including decision-makers and influencers, to position our solutions as the preferred choice.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations to promote the benefits and capabilities of our solutions.
- Negotiate and close deals, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementations.
- Stay current on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies and enhance customer value.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer success, to ensure seamless delivery of our solutions and outstanding customer experiences.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales performance in our CRM system.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of the industrials sector is essential
- Commercial experience, including in sales is desirable
- Any start up or scale up experience is ideal
- Background in ecological science, conservation biology is a benefit but not essential
- Strong commitment to delivering solutions which have a positive impact on nature is essential
