NX Filtration is growing fast and is significantly expanding its international sales organization. Our Application and Sales engineering department plays a pivotal role in the dynamics between our customers, our unique technology for sustainable water treatment, and our sales department. Therefore, we are looking for an ambitious Director who sees a challenge in expanding and professionalizing our global Sales Engineering and Applications team.

NX Filtration’s Applications and Sales Engineering department is the responsible for the technical support of our global sales team. The team is responsible for the membrane process engineering during the proposal/bid phase (through pilot projects and process simulations) as well as providing the necessary technical/engineering/site support to the OEMs/EPC partners for a successful implementation into full-scale plants. You will report to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). While the team of engineers is spread over the globe, you are based in Enschede, the Netherlands.

As a Director of Application and Sales Engineering at NX Filtration, you will fulfil a pivotal role within a growing, ambitious organization. For NX Filtration, we are looking for a Director of Application and Sales Engineering who is hands-on, ambitious and an entrepreneurial leader. You are capable of communicating with different internal- and external stakeholders. You remain focused and goal-orientated in a dynamic, international environment.
Further, you meet the following criteria:
- PhD or master’s degree in Science/Engineering, preferably in chemical or process engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in a similar position.
- Demonstrated abilities in management, problem-solving, and team building.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive decisions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent command of English language, other languages are a benefit.
- Living in the Netherlands or willing to move in the shorter term.
- Preferably, expertise in water and wastewater treatment technologies.
The job includes the following tasks and responsibilities:
- You manage, professionalize, and strengthen the international Applications and Sales Engineering team.
- Manage the allocation of team members to prioritize and maximize the teams’ capabilities for the technical support of sales opportunities, pilot plants and commissioning of full-scale plants.
- Contribute to the optimization and standardization of internal processes within the department, e.g., pilot projects, process engineering, technical proposal management, etc.
- Develop, distribute and management of technical documentation (manuals, technical bulletins, case studies, white papers, etc.).
- Your team supports the Sales team to develop technical offers and provide the necessary input to the OEMs/EPCs to develop the engineering of the full-scale systems.
- Responsible for the management of the global fleet of pilot equipment and report on the data that is generated by this pilot equipment.
- Responsible for site activities related to supporting our partners in conducting pilot projects and commissioning of full-scale plants.
- Ultimately responsible for the technical sign-off on process guarantees and product warranties.
- You are a strategic partner to the (regional) Sales Managers, removing technical blockers from key deals through timely involvement of the team’s specialist and experts.
