Small Aquatic Organism Imaging System

OceanSpace is now marketing our novel flow-through optical imaging system suitable for use in the lab or field. The system utilizes patent-pending technology to image and classify small organisms (e.g., small fish, invertebrate larvae) and particulates (e.g., microplastics) generally ranging in size from 1-50 mm. In the laboratory, newly collected our voucher samples can be imaged and classified with essentially no damage when using the OceanSpace desktop sample processing accessory. In the field, sample collection can be static or mobile. Resultant images are spatially and temporally resolved at the meter/second scale and, as a result of that fine-scale resolution, can be paired with ancillary environmental data collected at similar scales. This represents a substantial advancement relative to legacy net-based sampling. Data are delivered in near-real-time. Both grayscale and color versions are available.
