As R&D Director, Solar Solution Development , you will provide leadership to a multi-disciplinary R&D team working to develop new products and solutions in the fast paced Solar industry.
This position is part of the global R&D leadership team and will be located in Delft, the Netherlands.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- You invest in developing and strengthening an experienced R&D team to continually become more efficient at New Product Development.
- You partner with product management to bring forward new product concepts that align to customer problems and provide focus to the new product development teams.
- You work with subject matter experts to estimate project and product costs, track and manage changes throughout product development to ensure final product meets customer needs as well as internal targets for manufacturability, quality, and cost.
- You execute product cost reduction programs, VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering), in collaboration with a cross-functional team.
- You execute special research activities which will lead to significant contribution to product development.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Master´s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science with demonstrated experience in innovation.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering leadership.
- Broad understanding of products and processes, including design, manufacturing, and market use of products.
- Understanding and ability to leverage tools such as Problem Solving, Daily Management, and Visual Project Management.
- Leadership skills, knowledge of effective team building approaches, team dynamics and conflict resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for people management, ability to motivate people to develop high performing teams.
