The Environmental Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for leading the Environmental Compliance Program and facilitating continuous improvement in Environmental performance towards best practice at our Pensacola site.
This position is part of the EHS Team located in Pensacola and will be an on-site role . At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Manage existing site procedures and work practices to meet applicable Environmental Regulations, Environmental Operating Permits, and company requirements including ISO 14001 environmental management system.
- Conduct Environmental Reviews, Risk Assessments, Audits, etc. and make recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team in order to establish suitable actions for improvements and reduction of environmental risks and liabilities.
- Develop and manage action plans aimed at improving our Environmental performance at Pensacola via Danaher Business System(DBS) continuous improvement and related tools.
- Lead training and communication with leadership, global EHS, and associates related to environmental topics, risks, challenges, and opportunities and participate in Kaizen events and manage the site environmental project funnel to drive continual improvement.
- Ensure accurate reports are completed/submitted to comply with legal requirements, operating permits, and company requirements including regular reporting of sustainability KPI such as energy, waste, and water to the company portal.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor degree in Science, Engineering or Environmental Management with 3+ years experience in industrial environmental management, engineering, or EHS.
- Experience managing/overseeing site procedures, work practices related to Environmental Regulations, permits, etc.
- Experience with Environmental agencies and regulatory requirements (FDEP, EPA, RCRA, TSCA) and State of Florida environmental laws and statutes including filing monitoring reports, regulatory correspondence, and interfacing with agency regulators.
- Comprehensive knowledge of environmental standards and codes such as ANSI, NEC, NFPA, GRI, and CDP
- Experience working with ISO14001 audit activities.
It would be a plus if you also possess the following:
- Recognized Professional Certification in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Management (CEM, CHMM, ASP).
- Auditing Skills including the ability to observe, monitor and analyze existing operating methods and procedures to determine compliance to standards.
