Responsibilities Overview
Previsico is a leading flood forecasting and prevention company, committed to providing innovative solutions to mitigate flood risks. As an IoT Specialist, you will support the ongoing managed service provided to our customers by configuring and monitoring devices, triaging issues, managing technical queries and communicating service messages to customers. You will work under the guidance of senior specialists and engineers to ensure the effective deployment and maintenance of our IoT technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remote Operational Support: Querying datasets and ensuring data reliability and accuracy during installation of units.
- Ongoing Network Monitoring: Monitoring datasets and automated warning services, contacting customers in the event of faults and communicating with suppliers regarding rectification of issues.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Support the collection, transmission, and preliminary analysis of data from IoT devices for early issue identification.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and maintenance for IoT systems to ensure smooth operation.
- Monitoring Improvements: You will work with our technology specialist to explore new techniques for identifying issues and automating this identification process.
- Event Reporting: You will ensure relevant operational platforms are updated as devices are configured and when issues arise.
Key Tasks
- Monitor IoT systems and assist in troubleshooting technical issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and engineers, to analyse IoT data with existing systems.
- Help support field tests and evaluations of IoT devices to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Support the implementation of data collection, transmission, and storage protocols.
- View processes with a critical eye and suggest potential improvements.
- Provide training and support to team members and clients on the use of IoT services and systems.
- Support preparation of technical documentation and reports under the guidance of senior team members.

- Optimise Data Utilisation: Support the effective utilisation of data collected from IoT devices for predictive analytics and decision-making.

- Client Support: Help deliver high-quality IoT solutions and support to meet client needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in evaluating and upgrading IoT systems to keep pace with technological advancements and emerging flood risks.
