Job Requirements:
- Undertake site inspections and investigations, including drainage catchment studies, to address issues related to stormwater drainage, flooding, or future development. Prepare comprehensive reports with recommended actions, effective solutions, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator Engineering Services to prioritize and program asset renewal, improvement, and upgrade works for Council's substandard drainage assets and other minor flood mitigation projects. These projects will be delivered by others.
- Offer specialist engineering advice to the Development Engineering unit and Council as needed, particularly regarding stormwater considerations for new developments, building works, easement-related issues, and properties susceptible to flooding or inundation.
- Work closely with internal departments and external authorities to develop and implement strategic integrated water initiatives, including water quality management. Establish strong relationships with external authorities and agencies concerning the drainage function of the Council.
