Southern Khorasan Regional Water Company's activity is:
1. Planning and management of water resources of the province 
2. Implementation of programs that are communicated to the company under the law of fair distribution of water and the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Energy
3. Implementation of exploitation operations related to the development of water resources of the country, industry and urban water supply to the vicinity of cities in the field of operation of the company. 
For this purpose, water resource development plans include the construction of repository and diversion dams, the use of groundwater resources, sweetening saline water combined with the creation of irrigation and drainage networks.
