The location in Montréal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Director, Asset Performance - Wood Products. This job is full-time permanent.
The position
Resolute is seeking a Wood Products Director, Asset Performance. You will work closely with management across Resolute Wood Products division to increase productivity through a more reliable and efficient production performance system. You will also be an integral part of the digital transformation of facilities.
Reporting to the Vice President, Asset Performance, you will assume the following responsibilities:
- Actively contributes in defining and developing a management performance system
- Work side-by-side with the site and regional leaders to deploy the management system across Resolute Wood business segment and sites
- Provide strategy and direction to the project managers responsible for deploying the site focused improvement activities
- Drive an increased year over year output per site through strategic action plans
- In close conjunction with your peers, mobilize a network of continuous improvement leaders across approximately 20 sites to deploy and sustain the performance management system
- Provide weekly and monthly performance reports to enable governance of progress
- Drive a structured best practices sharing process across sites and divisions
- Support business segments and sites adopt lean practices
- Support facilities’ establish their action plans to drive performance targets
- Support the facilities’ digital transformation by ensuring basic process principles are in place prior to introduction of digital tools
The ideal profile
- Safety-focused mindset
- University degree in a relevant discipline
- More than 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a forest product company or a continuous flow production environment
- Experience as a director of continuous improvement
- Experience with the definition and deployment of operations management systems
- Demonstrated ability to influence people and implement sustainable change
- Ability to asses processes to identify improvement opportunities & actions
- Solid execution management and management support skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Fluency in English and French
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time
