Senior Project Manager – Water Services

Position Summary:
Provide technical, managerial, and market guidance to expand RJN’s water pipeline inspection services. RJN is looking to duplicate its success as a leader in the condition assessment of wastewater pipelines with the expansion of its water pipeline condition assessment services. With a host of products and partnerships established, our strong base of existing clients provides a springboard for an experienced leader to help expand these accounts into water services.

The ideal candidate will have the background to serve as the subject matter expert providing expertise, leadership, and support to account managers within each of our operating units. The individual will be involved in developing and implementing marketing strategies, introducing new inspection technologies, developing new service offerings and executing projects.

As a leadership position, the Senior Project Manager will be provided the autonomy to lead teams of engineers to execute condition assessment services for water pipeline and pressure pipeline projects.

Position Responsibilities:
Technical Support
• Complete technical reviews of condition assessment and pipe assessment data. Responsible for the technical quality of core service offerings within proposals and client reports.
• Attend industry trade shows and remain informed of new methods and developments affecting the water and pressure pipe business. Develop and implement best-in-class products and services solutions through continuous improvement and investment
• Promote technical excellence on project, ensuring established Quality Control and Assurance objectives are met. Analyze contractual and financial performance and direct activities to improve efficiency, production and performance.
• Interface with our internal software development team to integrate water service applications for project management, efficiency, quality control and client deliverables.

Managerial Support
• Oversee execution, quality control and deliverables for condition assessment services, leak detection surveys, valve exercising, flow and pressure meter installation and other field inspection services.
• Coordinate with product vendors and partners for the delivery of contracted services.
• Prepare work plans, supervise project teams and manage project scope, budget and schedule.
• Create project teams capable of completing the work through effective liaison with support departments and other operations offices.
• Assist in the hiring and development of engineering and technical staff. Participate in developing and implementing corporate training programs.

Marketing Support
• Partner with RJN Account Managers to meet regional bookings, revenue and profit margin goals
• Provide technical support to Account Managers including educating clients in formal and informal presentations to drive sales
• Cultivate client relationships and work with Account Managers to identify new clients
• Promote marketing of services through trade shows, workshops, webinars, social media and client meetings
• Assist in the development of the corporate and local marketing strategies and resource materials

Minimum Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
• Minimum of 10 years-experience in municipal water projects
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• A successful track record of managing projects scope, schedule and budget compliance.
• Experience in the condition assessment of water pipelines. This experience may include evaluations, inspection technology selection and implementation, leak detection, corrosion surveys, water audits, as well as condition data analysis.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to convey information effectively; understand ideas and information presented in writing and verbally; including presentations
• Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred Skills & Experience:
• M.S. degree in Engineering or related from an accredited institution
• 20+ years’ consulting experience
• Successful track record of building client relationships in the municipal water field
• A successful track record building a highly efficient technical team
• Strong leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor staff
