RSK Raw is one of the leading specialists in inland oil spill response and remediation, operating across the world from our offices in the UK, Ireland and Overseas.
Due to continued growth and exciting projects on the horizon, RSK Raw are now looking for an Environmental Technician to help strengthen the successful team in Manchester
Environmental Technician
Key Responsibilities
- Performance and management of specific technical tasks under the supervision of Project Manager
- Responsible for the sample processing system including sample room, dispatch/collection, containers, laboratory liaison and log
- Providing technical and project administrative support, including fieldwork, report writing, subcontractor communications and cost appraisal.
- Responsible for completing allocated tasks on time and to budget, as requested
- Maintain positive relations with current clients and interested parties by ensuring a high standard of work and presentation
- Project fieldwork, including emergency mitigation works, sample collection and logging, supervision of subcontractors, liaison with clients, groundwater and ambient air monitoring.
- Compilation of technical reports, preparation of letters and general correspondence
- Carrying out desk based research
- Preparing site plans
- Routine care maintenance and calibration of field equipment
- In addition to your normal duties, you may occasionally be required to undertake additional work necessary to meet the needs of the business, without additional remuneration.
Person Specification
- Science based degree
- Some relevant previous experience is an advantage but not essential
- A full UK/EU driving licence is essential for this role and a valid CSCS card is beneficial.
Salary and Benefits
Competitive salary between £18,000 and £23,000, depending on experience.
