About

SEED is a for-profit social enterprise whose mission is to increase incomes of rural farmers by developing affordable and sustainable conservation products and services.

SEED started as a result of a market study conducted by MBA students on a need for small mechanized irrigation pumps , SEED developed from a project to a social business. We interviewed 250+ farmers in Bangladesh, India and Ethiopia to get a sense of small landholder farmer needs. Our experience has showed us that there is a growing need for small, portable and energy-efficient products.
