Dear Researchers. This is a regular practice as STPs on municipal sewage treatmnt need to address the issue of sludges created. In some of Indian STPs sludge is released on tender-sale to brick kiln operators. At most occasion the sludge is part digested and containing CH4 in it. It is used as fuel to power / bake raw bricks Etc. The ash generated is used by them as raw material with clay for making bricks from them in kilns.
