Business Development Director
ROLE PROFILE
SOURCE Global is looking for a highly capable, self-directed Business Development Director, Defense to join our Global Business Development team and spearhead business development with the US Defense industry. Our team is committed to solving global water challenges with our one-of-a-kind renewable SOURCE technology that uses the power of the sun to extract clean drinking water from the air. This role is critical to both our mission as well as a driver of the growth of our company. It will be based in our Scottsdale, AZ Headquarters or remotely in California or Washington, DC and will report to the VP of Business Development for North America. At a glance, this position is responsible for providing strategic market development, engagement across a highly-matrixed environment, and leading efforts to build and grow opportunities in targeted segments.
In this role, you will:
Be a primary Business Development lead for the US Defense industry and serve as relationship lead and ambassador for SOURCE Global. Our product SOURCE is revolutionary and a new capability that can help the US Defense industry solve water challenges in new ways – with this in mind, you should be able to think creatively and make an emotional and financial connection to prospects and customers in the segment.
This role will include but not be limited to:
- Owning our Defense market strategy; identify target programs, develop success criteria, and execute a sales and/or partnership strategy.
- Establishing direct engagement with key stakeholders in US Defense agencies and prime contractors to evolve market opportunities and educate Defense customers and end-users about SOURCE solutions for their challenges.
- Developing proposals, presentations and bids to support and close sales efforts with North American Business Development team.
- Tracking and achieving sales targets, aligned with company and regional objectives.

- The ability to develop a sales pitch tailored to the communicated and uncommunicated needs of the US government and their employees.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least five years of experience and success in US Defense business development or program management;
- Knowledge of technology-related Defense programs and contracting requirements;
- Network of contacts within US government, service branches, and prime contractors;
- Experience developing business plans and go-to-market strategies;
- Prior Military service or Defense Industry employment a plus;
- Start-up experience in a technology enabled company a plus.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a member of the Business Development team at SOURCE Global, you’ll spend a significant portion of your day building relationships with government customer and end-users in order to create drinking water solutions for existing and future problems.
The typical work schedule is 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday-Friday, with a focus on developing relationships daily to close business over the medium term.
