Spyglass Technologies - SAUV II (Solar AUV)
Published on by Investment Matchmaking Manager, Employee at water filtration company for Spyglass Technologies
To complement our line of environmental monitoring equipment, Spyglass Technologies is now offering a Solar-powered Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (SAUV). Deployed as a tow vehicle for the PORIFERA, MANTA or other customer-specific instruments, advanced sampling and data collection can now be performed autonomously and remotely at variable depths for extended periods of time.
The SAUV II is capable of operating on the surface or at water depths of up to 500 meters. The vehicles are equipped with rechargeable lithium ion batteries to allow maximum mission endurance even under conditions where minimal solar radiation is available. With an advanced propulsion control system, embedded depth sensors, a custom navigation system and bidirectional communications telemetry, SAUV II vehicles are capable of running complex missions for a wide variety of freshwater, coastal and harbor monitoring projects.
APPLICATIONS
- Coastal and harbor long-term security surveillance
