The Opportunity
Redefine your personal best.
Stantec is working in partnership with water industry stakeholders to develop innovative, sustainable and efficient solutions to their needs, by applying genuinely new ways of working. We are looking for driven individuals who think differently and love to challenge conventional thinking to join us in a growing, collaborative team of likeminded engineers working to meet the unprecedented industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges.
We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal to join our team of leakage and water network consultants. In the role you will use your leakage and water networks experience to support water companies to achieve their leakage and other regulatory reporting targets. The role will be primarily focused on leakage and you will be supporting water companies with leakage assurance and reporting, with leakage strategy and with leakage delivery. Water network activities could include supporting the creation of smart networks, network calming and pressure optimisation, reducing supply interruptions and maximising mains renewals benefits.
The role will include short term and long-term project delivery and may involve undertaking secondments. Initially you will be remote working, undertaking the occasional client visits, but eventually you will be based at a Stantec office with occasional client visits and the opportunity for further remote working.
About you
Ideally you will have a professional Engineering qualification, be Chartered and be a member of a relevant engineering institution. Your leakage knowledge will cover some or all of the following activities: leakage technology, economic level of leakage, demand management, water efficiency, leakage targeting, leakage detection and leakage repair. A knowledge of other water network activities such as smart networks, network calming and pressure optimisation, interruptions to supply and mains renewals would also be advantageous.
You will be a team player, a self-starter and an effective and compelling communicator both internally and externally who can build relationships at all levels to create and deliver your own workload. You will have the ability to deliver technical excellence and on time reporting within budget and to support the check and review process for colleagues’ projects.
