To be well prepared for this role, here are some important things to consider:

 

Core Requirements:

·         High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent to High School Diploma

·         1+ years of experience in water treatment field preferred - We need a combination of experienced operators and those new to the field.

·         You’ll need to be able to access a secure site by meeting our background screen requirements

·         Comfort working in an operation that runs 24X7 where on-call and rotational shifts are the norm

 

Other Useful Skills and Experience:

·         Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, CE, EE, ME, IE or Environmental Engineering is a plus!

·         Experience with industrial pumps and filtration equipment running in excess of 300 GMP

·         Working experience with PLC control systems, PLC programming and troubleshooting is preferred

·         Tech savvy - ability to learn company and site-specific computer applications and advanced testing and monitoring equipment

What will you be doing?

You’ll routinely ensure system operations & reliability, regulatory compliance, and maintenance of water treatment plant equipment, instrumentation and associated equipment, while developing site specific procedures for operations and safety.  You’ll deepen your knowledge of water treatment equipment, including: pH Neutralization Systems, chemical treatment and handling, filtration, GAC, chemical Pretreatment, Reverse Osmosis (RO), Electro de-ionization (EDI), Softeners & regeneration, Gas Transfer Membranes (GTM), Ion Exchange, Ultra-Violet & chemical treatment, filter press, clarifiers and sludge thickening. Other responsibilities include:

·         Analytical testing such as: turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, in addition to various other site-specific testing requirements.

·         Carry out mechanical, electrical, process and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors pumps, blowers, instrumentation, and automation hardware

·         Ensure Utilization of proper procedures and equipment when handling chemicals, examples of chemicals handled: HCl, NaOH, polymers, Sulphuric Acid and alum

·         Collaborate with site team, other customer operators, plant manager, Environmental Health and Safety, sales, engineering, logistics, outside contractors and others
