Wastewater R&D Engineer

Swirltex Inc. is an early-stage wastewater treatment technology company that utilizes a patented process to treat wastewater. We are looking for a R&D Field Engineer who can further develop and optimize the Swirltex Technology and install/commission our systems as they come online around the world. We are looking for someone who is excited about working for a start-up and helping grow the company to become a world-leader in its class.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
· Coordinate and manage research and development activities including bench scale and field pilot testing of Swirltex patented technology;
· Document, maintain and follow-up on action items relating to technology development;
· Create training materials and train customers and operators on Swirltex technology;
· Installation and commissioning of new equipment at customer sites;
· Remote Monitoring and troubleshooting of Swirltex systems;
· Wet testing and quality control of Swirltex systems prior to mobilization to customer sites;
· Assist with process design optimization, equipment sizing, and field trials, as required;
· Coordinate and manage third party stakeholders relating to R&D, computational fluid dynamics modeling, installation and commissioning of Swirltex systems.
· Actively communicate and engage stakeholders in the communities where Swirltex operates;
· Write technical papers for conferences and present at conferences around the world;
Qualifications
Basic
· B.Sc. in Engineering (Chemical/Process Engineering preferred);
· 5+ years experience in a technical role in the wastewater treatment industry;
· Outstanding troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities of wastewater membrane plants;
· Excellent customer service skills with a focus on relationship building;
· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
· Excellent written and oral communication skills;
· Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment with engineers, trades, programmers, and technical professionals;
Preferred
· Advanced knowledge of tubular membranes would be considered an asset;
· Advanced knowledge in induced gas floatation would be considered and asset;
· Advanced knowledge of PLC’s and programming would be considered an asset;
Location and Travel
· Calgary, AB
· Travel: Up to 60%;
· Must be willing and able to travel to the USA and Overseas;
· Must have a valid passport and driver’s License;
