Role profile:

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our Water & Environment business in WRc, supporting the team delivering a range of projects across the world.

The Project Manager will be accountable for the planning and delivery of projects to the defined scope, cost and quality to meet the requirements of our varied clients – and our commercial expectations.

This role will suit Project Managers both from an engineering / scientific background, perhaps with previous utility sector experience or those with the confidence to explore a new sector.

This role will be based out of  Swindon . Currently, we are operating remote working for many of our office-based employees and this is expected to evolve into a blended working arrangement when restrictions enable this.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide a professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service to the clients and all stakeholders.
  2. Act as the key, day to day client interface. Manage the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communication.
  3. Coordinate all resources for the flawless execution of projects. Motivate project teams to deliver exceptional service to the clients.
  4. Promote a culture of pro-activity, innovation, transparency, collaboration, and flexibility in all aspects of the work of project delivery.
  5. Prepare and maintain definitions of project requirements. Establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters. Disseminate them to all stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
  6. Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
  7. Develop and implement resource plans and procurement of resources. Manage project resource availability and allocation to ensure timely delivery in line with requirements and priorities. Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues and conflicts.
  8. Develop and agree budgets. Control forecast and actual costs against them.
  9. Measure project performance using appropriate project management tools. Identify variances to plan to ensure timely implementation of countermeasures.
  10. Manage project risks and issues to mitigate impact to baseline.
  11. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  12. Prepare comprehensive project progress and other reports to various audiences including project team, leadership team and clients.
  13. Ensure adherence to governance, processes, and systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  14. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation in line with company standards and procedures.
