What Will The Role Involve?
As our Assistant Supplier Relationship Manager, you will support and on occasion, lead on the supplier relationship management of selected NEC Term Service Contracts under the Water Services Agreement Framework through efficient and effective relationship management and governance.
The role forms part of the wider WSA Framework Contract Management Team which is responsible for the delivery of cost and quality in line with requirements and ensuring exceptional safety and operational performance, and full compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and contractual requirements. The team contains roles in a range of areas including supplier relationship management, commercial management, strategy and assurance.
You’ll be expected to lead/support on the resolution of day to day escalated issues as well as support service escalation to ensure a consistently high level of service during extreme weather conditions, major asset failure and elevated customer contacts.
You’ll also be asked to lead/support contractor performance reviews, driving continuous improvement in cost efficiency and quality. You’ll work with operational teams to support the investigation, collation and production of evidence to support liquidated damages claims, issuing of formal warnings/yellow/red cards, etc.
What Key Skills & Experience Are We Looking For?
Essential
- Exposure to the contract management of high value, complex and business critical service (field force) based contracts, and partnering with key operational stakeholders to ensure the required service is delivered
- A blend of operational and contractual management experience, and linked to this an understanding of the workings of service based contracts and the trade-off between commercial and operational priorities
- Financial management skills, understanding and balancing trade-off's between cost, quality and scope
- Performance management and driving change – significant experience of manging supplier performance via governance forums, using data insight to drive operational decision making and improvement, and then tracking this through to delivery
- Relationship skills - the ability to build relationships at all levels and establish absolute credibility with all stakeholders particularly the Client and employees
- Supervision – the ability to mentor and pass on knowledge and skills to more junior staff
Desirable
- Relevant Contract Management qualification (e.g. NEC)
- Previous experience in regulated environment, e.g. gas, power, water, telecoms
- Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors
