Can anyone tell me more about micro-irrigation for hydroponic systems in tropical regions?

Published on by in Technology

We are trying to build a hydroponic system to produce Patchoi. We want to know how we can use water more efficiently in hydroponic systems.

Do you think micro-irrigation is the best solution for saving water in hydroponics?

As we live in the Caribbean, our major problems are heat and finding the right suppliers for the hydroponic systems. If someone has experience in installing hydroponic systems, please share your experience. It would be helpful if you could suggest some suppliers in Caribbean for hydroponic nutrients as well.

  2. Dear Keron .. rather than looking at only economizing and optimising water .. it will be best to use the basic principles of precision agriculture .. micro irrigation is just one of many tool for the same.. and as suggested by Volker it is one of the most effective ways of having noncirculating irrigation in hydroponics . thats where it will be more useful. .the ability to be precise shoudl be the focus and water optimization only a part of the whole.. usualyl in India NETAFIM is the best supplier for such solutions

  3. Solar Water pumping and drip irrigation has transformed the desert State of Rajasthan, India into a high yield horticulture crop producing region. More than 17,000 solar water pumps have been installed and the number is growing with each passing day. Plz google Rajasthan solar water pumping program.
