Gender equity in WASH
Gender is a concept that describes women and men within their culture and society. It relates to their roles, responsibilities, powers and positions within society and therefore also to their relationships.
Gender equity means fairness and impartiality in the treatment of women and men in terms of rights, benefits, obligations and opportunities....
An equity approach leads to the fair and equitable sharing of burdens, responsibilities, opportunities and benefits between women and men, between different social sectors in the community, and between the communities and the different levels of government.
