how we remove the layer of impurities from the water which is supplied by the municipal.
Published on by Vinod Sachan in Technology
The Nagar Palika Parishad supplied water in our area. After 3 hour some impurities floating on the top of water container. Sab impurities are settle down the container.
It may be precipitation which cause by chemicals.
How we may be solve our problem.

our simple system can be modified to remove almost any contamiantes from source water. erfficient and cost effective

Recommend that the water source be tested to determine defined conditions for which remedy is being sought. Based on the results, and depending too on the volume of daily water need, a modification in the supporting infrastructure should be considered to integrate a secondary independent filtration and treatment (IFT) process to address the impurities. This recommendation is made to mitigate the potential compromise in the supply source. Repressurization of water beyond the integrated IFT may be necessary.

Most likely there are also dissolved impurties in water. The analysis suggested in a previous below is the right approach. There are the possiblility of several different approaches. Usual would be coagulation (chemical or electrocoagulation0, floculation, filtering. Some more effective some less costly. Depends on the amount of water treated and final desired result.

Try our dewatering system....better in US as that is where we are. And lower costs, energy.

Take a sample of water (1 gallon). Jot down the time of sampling on the jug and the place where it was taken from. Take it to your local laboratory and have it analyzed. Based on the results, a course of action may be suggested.

What kind of impurities are? Filtration used to be a good solution at most cases with membranes o filtering equipment, but to know more information about what are you looking to eliminated is a most.

The 3 Hours of time frame justifies the improper water treatment, especially filtration. Write a letter to the Nagar Palika Parishad stating that "Due to improper Clarification and Filtration, after 3 hours of retention, precipitation occurs. Please ensure appropriate coagulant and flocculant dose with proper backwashing of the Pressure Sand Filters. Also, there seems to be the utilization of substandard dosing chemicals which may be causing the coagulation of impurities present in water. Please take apporpiate measure. Your quick response will be highly appriciated."

FIRST, you should have those particles analyzed. It MAY be something as simple as "hard" (mineral-rich) water, suitable for drinking but not so good for use with soaps for cleaning or other chemical applications. IF it is something that should have been removed by the supplier in processing, they need to be held accountable. If it is a normal and safe condition like mineral content, for you own uses you may need to install a "water softener" that will remove the excess mineral content.

The first thing to do is not to accept the situation. Present the problem to the water supplier and insist they have the water tested and have them take remedial action.
Too many water companies (suppliers) make all kinds of excuses. They don’t take their obligation to supply safe water seriously. This is not acceptable.
The treatment may be simple - but it needs to be implemented consistently and in a sustainable way.

Your water being supplied has both settleable and floating solids needs further treatment. The most cost effective would be to use a clarifier which would remove both the floatable and settleable material. Depending on the volume of water being treated, this could be done for a reasonable cost.
