Lime Saturators
Published on by Soloman Prince, Plant General Manager at F2 IWPP PLANT FUJAIRAH UAE in Technology
We have Lime saturators to dissolve Lime Milk prepared from Hydrated lime and water to produce Lime water of Alkalinity close to 1800 ppm.
We have Lamella plates to reduce turbidity and often observe undissolved lime deposits in the mixing chamber and Lamella and this requires frequent cleaning.
Any body has experience on how to reduce Lime deposits inside the Lime saturators?

I had found this case in WW treatment some thing seem like colloid and make tubidity in clearify. I think this come from to much concentration or over dose. Yub try to decreasing and using DI water.

Lime Saturators are notorious maintenance problems. With the saturators you run the risk of oversaturating the lime creating your deposits. Three possible solutions: 1) run the saturator at a higher rate, producing water that is not fully saturated in lime. 2) Use DI water, to remove other materials, and 3) use distilled water as the feed water. Neither of the last two are guaranteed to solve the problem but they should help. The best solution is to run the system with less than saturated lime== meaning monitor the pH.
