  2. E-Coli

    Hi,

As we know E-Coli is a indicator for sewage conamination we have to assess MPN of ecoli in sample. The permanent solution is to find the contamination source and solve the problem. But as a temparory measure disinfection is the only solution. Disinfection at home is only boiling. so if you drink boiled water than no problem. But if you go for RO. You can be very safe not only from this biological contamination and also from harmfull chemicals, heavymetals contamination.

The water has to be tested for other pathogens. if its only E-coli its not that much harmfull as in our intestine itself we have E-coli.

    Hope this will help you,

  3. We are planning to use the solar system for water boiling. We have started distributing chlorine tablets to the community people. Thank you everyone..cheers

  4. yes, boiling will solve the problem. And little Chlorine will be extra advantage.

  5. There is a company called Eco Flow Labs, LLC (www.Eco-Flolabs.com). Cracked the code on resonant field technology. Two things, this unit will break minerals down to their singular molecular state, requires no salts, no chemicals, no filters, and no maintenance. It has an estimated 100 plus year life. It also comes with a no questions asked five year replacement warranty. Mineral uptake to plants is enhanced because of the molecular breakdown, and it will balance the PH of the water in doing so. These are already used on industrial equipment to stop calcification from occurring, and are used in restaurants like Subway to stop black mold from growing in their ice machines. 6. Human or animal feces infected with E. coli sometimes get into lakes, pools, and water supplies. People can become infected when a contaminated city or town water supply has not been properly treated with chlorine or when people accidentally swallow contaminated water while swimming in a lake, pool, or irrigation canal. The bacteria can also spread from one person to another, usually when an infected person does not wash his or her hands well after a bowel movement. E. coli can spread from an infected person's hands to other people or to objects.

  7. E. Coil.

coli comes from human and animal waste. During rainfalls, snow melts, or other types of precipitation, E. coli may be washed into creeks, rivers, streams, lakes, or groundwater. When these waters are used as sources of drinking water and the water is not treated or inadequately treated, E. coli may end up in the drinking water.
Public water supplies are usually disinfected with chlorine, ozone, or some other process. Finding E. coli in a public water supply indicates that the disinfection process was not working, or that contact with the waste occurred after the water was treated.
Himanshu has given a very nice description about the treatment you should do for the contaiminated water.

  8. Ecoil in drinking water

Yes, boiling water for half an hour and cooling it, thereafter filtering it with thin clean cotton cloth makes it safe for drinking. However, add chlorine tablet 0.2gm/litre for making it sure safe because, in case cloth is containing any germs it will be carried to filtered water which will be disinfected by chlorine. Nevertheless, the presence of ecoli in water indicates ingress of polluted water/sewage water/drain water/ dirty water/ night soil -- contamination from latrine -- is taking place somewhere in the distribution for which the Municipal Authority needs to adequately chlorinate the distribution system before releasing water for public consumption. Further, household level hygiene is also to be maintained while handling such treated/purified/disinfected water before drinking. Take utmost care.
