Removing foaming from borewell water
Published on by Abdul Wahab Khan in Case Studies
We add surfactant in borewater but when the water is extracted from the borewell the foaming due to surfactant does not dissolve in water.
My question is that how to remove that foaming present in water due to surfactant?

When you add surfactant to the bore well, add some probiotic bacteria too, so that it is degrades in situ--result no foaming

It is the decaying leaves and other organic substances that cause foaming. In order to remove them, please adopt one of the following: Boiling, add oiodine tablets, use chlorine drops, filter or
use ultraviolet light.

could you elaborate, why surfactant is added in the first place?

I think the surfactant gets depleted as the borehole is developed and test pumped and cannot indefinitely remain in the water!
