You have choices. Depending upon your effluent quality requirements, you can consider any of a number of choices for treatment systems. The latest seems to be Membrane Bioreactors, but they come with a substantial investment and operational cost.  I would suggest A sequencing batch reactor for basic needs. They are cheap, easy to build and easy to automate.  It would be a 2 or 3-tank system, easy to operate, and produces an acceptable effluent for most treatment systems.  I would not go into membrane systems or advanced wastewater treatment unless it is required by your regulatory authority.  Whatever you decide, consider the effluent goals first then consider which technology and how much treatment will be required to meet the goals.  

Also, have you considered what you will do with the treatment plant solids and sludge?  That's a bit of a separate issue but it can have a major impact on total system costs.
