Using a Steel Pipe as a Dip Tube for Production Well
Published on by Chris Medidas, Hydrogeologist at Oceana Gold in Academic
Hi, any recommendations on what type of steel pipe is suitable for a dip tube?
I'm looking at a max of 32 mm diameter. I usually use PVC pipes but it usually breaks off when we pull out the submersible pump.

Hi Chris. I have used garden hose pipe with small lightweight pumps like the Grunfos pump or solar pumps. Very strong pipes are the Layflat hoses. They vary in sizes and can carry much more weight. Check the link. http://www.hosesandcouplings.co.za/ All the best.
