Addition of unreacted excess sodium chlorite into potable water in Desalination

Hi Connections!
This question relates to Chlorine Dioxide Generation Package! Application chlorination of SWRO plant's potable (remineralized)
What is the effect of unreacted sodium chlorite on potable water quality;  when reactions are allowed at non stoichiometric amounts, (read high or low) what happens to the production of Chlorine Dioxide? 
 
Please consider the following are additional questions
Excess Hypo chlorite added to remineralized water Excess Sodium chlorite added t remineralized water What happens to reaction, when reactants are higher in concentration or lower or one higher than the other

Hello Anvar, I am not an authority on this, but it seems that provided the residual dose is less than 0.7 mg/l of chlorite, there is no harmful effects on humans using it for drinking water.  There are mention of effects on blood haemoglobin and thyroid at higher doses in sensitive people.
