Converting Lagoon into Freshwater Wetland

Dear Friends,

We are living in lagoon area and the freshwater availability is reducing. I am working with Community Mobilization organization for water resources. We are thinking about converting lagoon into freshwater wetland like "Porirua Lagoon" project.

Your views are invited to guide us on this innovative process. Is this a feasible way to get freshwater? Is it proven that it may have some adverse environmental effects (Please share some case study published etc) ?

Whom should we contact if we wish to convert the lagoon to wetland? Which agencies can do a feasibility study for such project?
