Design details for sprinkler irrigation system
Published on by Daniel Hobbs, Waste Water reuse in Technology
We want to implement irrigation system for our tea farm of 10 Ha. Drip irrigation is not suitable for us as the slope is too high. So we are considering implementation of sprinkler irrigation in our project. Does some one have guidelines for designing sprinkler irrigation system? How to calculate the amount of fertilizers that can be applied through these sprinklers? Are there different norms for systems used for irrigation purpose (Vs) system used for irrigation plus fertigation purpose?

Hi daniel
I know that your topic is already old but take time to have a look on Dosatron design to fertilise . You will definitely save water

Meeting plant requirements and managing irrigation systems can be a difficult task under normal circumstances. When slope plantings are involved, applying water efficiently and effectively can be extremely challenging. Too little water and plants won't grow, too much water and you've got other problems.
As experts says, adjust the distance between lateral lines to compensate for the slope.

Sprinkler will be suitable with small coveringa diameters of nozzles. Further, there are no different norms for irrigation and fertilization by sprinkler systems. One system can do both. I think you will need proper calculations for slope consdierations otherwise there will be runoff. Can share design criteria later.
