I’ve been asked this question so many times by clients and my answer has always been: “it isn’t like buying a fridge for your kitchen, it depends on the type of water in and out, ...”

The other question should be, is MBBR necessarily the best option for your effluent? There is insufficient information to provide what you want.

Thank you Mark. Possibly, yes.

Richard. nice answer. Think someone is trying to get you to do their homework.

Hi, this is akin to asking how long a piece of string is. A lot more detail is reuitred to answer this question. For example; 1. Volume to be processed (required flow rate)? 2. What is the effluent? 3. what level does the effluent need to be processed to?
These are just a few of a myriad of questions that need to be asked before any idea of Capex or Opex can be arrived at.

I am trying to design for hotel wastewater. The flow in the hotel ranges from 4 cum/day to 250 cum/day. The effluent quality is to get <30 BOD for reusing treated wastewater in irrigation. I would be grateful if you can provide any reference for the cost calculation

MBBR system for 4 to 250 m3/Day
CAPEX: Rs. 15,000/m3.Hr,and
OPEX: Rs. 12.5/m3
The same may vary!
