MDG and WASH

MDG which targets gender equality and women’s empowerment, progress has been made in a number of gender dimensions, such as in education and economic gains. Also targeting the WASH, do you think that we will achieve the goal in developing countries of Africa? The scenario of developing countries is changing in sanitation but water is still scare, what do you think what more inputs are needed?

To achieve this goal and many other MDG goals in developing countries of Africa we need change in mind sets of every one (i.e. politicians, researchers, lecturers, ordinary people, community development workers, corporating partners, traditional leaders, etc.. In line with the foregoing there is need for resources for carrying out community sensitization and education. Everyone has to be brought on board (i.e. young or old, rich or poor, black or white, traditional leaders, etc) and everyone has to pledge to support every effort on the same. In Africa so much more is needed than just human resources and finances.

MDG and WASH
The UN Secretary-General issues a yearly report on progress toward implementation of the Millennium Declaration, including the MDGs, based on information drawn from across the UN system. While the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) focus primarily on social and environmental results for poverty reduction, their achievement also requires investment in economic infrastructure, productive private sector-led employment, and good governance. The level o work going on in developing countries makes me believe that we are will achive the targeted goal. I believe that environment and the social economical situations are degrading day by day. The affords are huge but the developing contries are growing in far way faster. But the strategy work don e by some govt and organisations is simply great. So, if you ask my view, YES we will achieve the target goals. About WASH also, the communities are coming together they want to have clean and fresh water and good sanitation facilities.
