  1. I'm not sure what your application is. For single use, emergency supply, there exist forward osmosis packs like these: http://www.htiwater.com/divisions/personal_hydration/index.html

If you're looking for something that is low energy, low technology to provide a (relatively) small amount of water then perhaps a solar still will suit your needs?

What is your intended market? what is the required throughput? What are the constraints?

  2. There are any number of small cook stove designs which use waste material as fuel.  Any of these could distill sea water to clean water.  The Yahoo group "Stoves" will give you a great variety of options.

Hi. I supply water conditioners that have been proven to neutralize brackish water. Ideal for applications where no electricity is available. Visit www.scalestop.co.za  . Many testimonials received. Not only drinking water, but also suitable for irrigation. Mail me on; info@scalestop.co.za

  4. RO exhausts high salinity water but our system will produce only pure water and solid materials separately. We are aiming at operating our device where no electricity is available.

    1. Hello Prof Yabe,

I'm interested at this system and appreciate if you can share more information about it. I had a look at the website and it looks a bit brief.

      Best regards

  5. Sun evaporation or if a nearby proces generates heat use that, remember salt corrodes most alloys so coat with PTFE to protect

  6. Hello

Desalination is a biological error that destabilises the local aquatic eco system.

The problem nowadays is not to produce water (desalination produces only neutral water without any nutritional contribution to the living), but to lose the water consumed:

1 in the pollutant with chemical

2 by dismissing it in the environment without purification or purifying.

Desalination will only increase the release of polluted water in the wild
