What is the public awareness of virtual water issues? (are there any surveys or studies? e.g. what percentage of Swiss people know what virtual water is?)

Virtual Water
Water can rightly be said as the basic element of the life on earth and water sector no doubt is the one of the most important sectors. No sector can be isolated from the water sector. Each sector, whether it is agricultural or industrial, urban or rural, health or sanitation, has direct linkages with water sector. In today's world, water is getting precious since its availability is getting limited due to increasing pressure of population and urbanization. Virtual water concept is not getting the attention it requires. We at private sector are trying our best to bring this in policy makers eyes. Private sector has to make sure that they are utilizing water resources with the maximum benefits and minimum wastage. Is any private company working on this issue? How you are bringing awareness in company? I would like to know the details, as we are planing to implement it on and starting with primary step.
