How have filming amines advanced since the first commercial release of ODA several decades ago?

My choice was to use neutralising amines along with DEHA in place of filming amines if appropriate.  This produces reducing conditions and returns iron oxide back to magnetite.

i have several clients who use the polyamines to clean fouled system, biggest complaint has been the low cost of the materials to do the job.

The old ODA product used to make what we called "tar babies", or tar balls in the line, sometimes even to the point where clogging lines took place.  The new products have a much better track record, even on some of the more corroded lines where Iron oxide (hematite rust) is present.
I would still think a clean in place protocol, prior to using this product is recommended.

The polyamines that have made their way to the US  Market are much more usable than ODA! Polyamines are used to treat closed loops and heatung boilers, cooling towers and in some casee boilers themselves. Of course polyamines are good steal line protectors.
