Water logging

Hello everyone, our project area has a problem of water logging due to canal passing near by. We are growing crop next season there with farmers, can anyone guide us for what management practices should be undertake in water logged condition?

Water logging
Water logging due to the canals happen when the cannel linings are not constructed properly. Most of the irrigation canals has the problem of water logging. Following remedies can be undertaken for minimizing the problem. 1. Drainage of excess water and providing field drains. 2.Early planting to reduce the excess moisture. 3.Earthing up for better root development. 4.Growing tolerant varieties of the crop, growing varieties with deep root penetration etc..
