About the position:  At the head quarters of seecon Gmbh in Bern, we are offering an internship for cewas middle east (August to December 2016) with the following activities:

• Researching and writing factsheets on approaches and technologies for sustainable sanitation and water management in humanitarian crises
• Development of training material
• Report writing
• Website content management

Requirements:

• Excellent English and writing skills
• Masters degree in environmental sciences, development studies, geography or similar
• Analytical thinking
• Technical affinity
• Background in humanitarian aid, knowledge of the MENA region and fluency in Arabic an asset

General

seecon offers 1-2 internships at its headquarters in Basel. Internships are held in Switzerland. Fieldwork (in Switzerland and abroad) is an exception.

Basic requirements  for an internship at seecon are:

• Bachelor’s degree in the area of sustainable development (such as: geography, sustainable development, natural sciences, social sciences, management studies, engineering, etc.)
• Between 4-6 months duration
• Excellent German and English skills (especially written), French an asset. Ability to write scientific texts in English.
• Capability of working independently.

About cewas middle east:

cewas middle east is the regional branch of cewas international, a swiss non-profit organisation that offers professional training, coaching, mentorship and consulting in business development for sustainable water, sanitation and resource management. cewas was initiated and is managed by the swiss consulting company seecon gmbh.

cewas middle east aims to increase the role of the private sector and sustainable entrepreneurship in tackling the environmental issues of the region. Its programs focus on environmental challenges in Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan and Iraq, as well as the challenges related to the humanitarian crises in the MENA region.
