Purpose of Position:
The Senior Compliance Analyst provides direction to the organization regarding the compliance requirements for products, and developing and maintaining a department plan for growth. Senior Compliance Analyst may also act as compliance engineer responsible for all aspects of product compliance.
Essential Functions:
- Provides a centralized information center for compliance information.
- Aids in the selection and evaluation of certification agencies for products.
- Develops and maintains compliance procedures, work instructions and documents.
- Reviews and monitors shifting and changing compliance requirements.
- Reports to senior management on the status of compliance projects and products.
- Assist production and marketing in developing a compliance assurance system to ensure compliant products, to include: labeling, manuals and advertisement literature.
- Assists legal with product investigations and litigations
- Strong and proven leadership skills
Will serve as a compliance engineer subject matter expert
- Provides guidance and testing assistance to the new product development teams.
- Facilitates product safety and EMC design reviews per new product development procedure.
- Understanding of RoHS, REACH (SVHC’s) and PROP 65 chemical substances and their impact on Hach products.
- Facilitates compliance testing with the certification agencies.
- Reviews all changes to compliant products.
- Maintains and reviews all compliance certification documentation.
- Educates the various departments of the company to enable them to ensure product compliance and contractual agreements with the certification agencies are honored.
- Establishes compliance test procedures.
Education, Background and Skill Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience (project teams, staff supervision, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in a Physical Science or Business program preferred OR and Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with equivalent applicable experience.
Knowledge of product safety and EMC standards and test procedures, digital and analog hardware, and EMC design techniques.
Must have good computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, DOS, and project management software.
Ability to solve difficult compliance related testing and design problems and to anticipate them in advance.
Ability to understand and test to compliance standards.
Ability to understand complex electro-mechanical equipment.
- Minimum of 10 years of combined in-depth experience in at least 4 or more of the following technical areas:
Hazardous locations (Class-Division/Zone (US & Canada and ATEX (EU) IECEx (row)
Laboratory and Industrial location product safety design and testing.
EMC design.
EMC testing and report writing.
Direct dealing with EMC and safety approval agencies.
EMC and product safety maintenance for compliant instrumentation
