Drought and water stress are a phenomenon that we will face more in the coming years. Drought is the quietest natural disaster against floods. The risks are far greater than other natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanoes.
Climate change at the macro scale and excessive use of groundwater resources by humans, water pollution, lack of proper planning for water resources and its consumption, lack of proper cultivation pattern, etc. are all effective in the occurrence of this critical phenomenon.
The causes of drought and lack of rainfall are evident in the northwest, center and southwest of the country and could be mainly due to climate change and our human error.
