Retail giant Walmart has issued a recall of about 850,000 stainless steel water bottles in the United States after two customers suffered permanent vision loss as its faulty lids forcefully ejected in their faces, a July 10 US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) notice stated.

The recall by Walmart covers “Ozark Trail 64 oz Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottles” which have been sold at Walmart’s stores across the US since 2017. The notice by US CPSC states that these products pose “serious impact and laceration hazards,” Associated Press reported.
