This Gulf Stream disturbance due to significant changes in temperature and ocean water salinity will lead to colder winters in Europe Peninsula, further increasing the energy demand and indirectly increasing carbon emissions. Also, due to climate change, the Indian Ocean is heating up, further pumping heat into the Atlantic Ocean, leading to increased freshwater inflow into the Ocean and reducing the salinity difference.
