*BRAND NEW* EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS * This week we have brought you not only one, but two exclusive interviews with expert speakers at the Global Leakage Summit 2016 , taking place in London this September. Jeremy Heath,  Innovation Manager - Sutton & East Surrey Water (UK) and Michael Nyoagbe,  NRW Manager - Ghana Water Company Ltd (Ghana) have provided us with detailed insight into their job roles and their varied perspectives - one from a developed Country and the other from a developing Country. ------------------------------ INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS --------------------------------- Q. What would be your advice to delegates on how to maintain asset and operational resilience and sustainability? JH. The key to this is data. One question I ask when talking about this is "how often does your Amazon parcel go to the wrong place". Probably more than you realise! The difference is that Amazon has an excellent monitoring solution that ensures that they are aware of any problems and... Q. Setting up a leakage management system in Ghana must present a far greater challenge than doing the same for networks in more developed Countries. MN. The main challenge happens to be funds allocation for procurement of equipment since the tariff has been generally inadequate for active maintenance. Next to this is the condition of the network. Here we have most of our valves buried and very it is very difficult to identify even though we have mapped a large percentage of the pipelines... OTHER QUESTIONS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Q. 'Smart' technologies can be introduced into any water network. But what are the criteria to have in place in the infrastructure to ensure they will work? Q. Do you see innovation as being the main driver to improving a water company's efficiency in leakage management and operational efficiency? Q. Can water companies make use of the large volume of data being collected to help the customer understand, manage and modify their water use? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To download and enjoy these two interviews in full, click here: www.global-leakage-summit-2016.com/program/">http://www.global-leakage-summit-2016.com/program/ Alternatively, you can find out more about this conference here: www.global-leakage-summit-2016.com
