Every year, 10 billion cubic meter of concrete is produced. Water is an essential component of concrete manufacturing and processes like curing. On an average, each cubic meter of concrete requires 400 to 900 liters of water!!! Hence concrete has a huge water footprint.
I am working on R&D project to develop innovative solution to eliminate or drastically reduce the water footprint of the concrete industry.
I am looking for research funding for this project. I was curious if this is the right forum to look for!

Not just water! Concrete has a massive carbon footprint even bigger that international air travel.

Exactly what I was thinking Peter. Yatin JOSHI, if you find funding for research on environmental impacts of the concrete industry, be sure to include the carbon footprint as well as the water needed and mineral extraction impacts too. Have you looked at the United Nations Environment Programme ? They may have pointers for funding?
