There are still a few days left to submit your abstracts for the X Ibero-American Congress on Membrane Science and Technology. On behalf of the Mexican Society of Membrane Science and Technology and the Organizing Committee, I would like to formally invite all Membrane Scientists and Technologists to the X Ibero-American Congress on Membrane Science and Technology (CITEM 2016) in conjunction with the VI National Congress of the Mexican Society of Membrane Science and Technology (SMCYTM) to be held on 22-25 May 2016 in Mexico City, Mexico (http://congreso.smcytm.org.mx/) CITEM is an international forum for scientists and technologists from Ibero-American countries to meet and discuss the latest research trends and technologies used in membrane processes. The Technical Program will include several thematic areas such as membrane synthesis, fabrication, modification and characterization, as well as industrial applications of membrane technologies in fields such as water treatment, desalination and gas separation, among others. These topics will be covered by plenary sessions with invited lectures, oral presentations, poster sessions and discussions, and social events. Plenary keynotes will be presented by Dr. Inmaculada Ortiz Uribe from the Universidad de Cantabria (Spain), Dr. Sergio Salinas Rodríguez from UNESCO-IHE (Netherlands) and Professor Dianne Wiley from the University of Sydney (Australia), on topics covering industrial uses for membrane technology, membrane-based water treatment and gas separation such as carbon capture. The Congress also offers the opportunity, for companies engaged in the manufacture and operation of membrane technology, to actively participate in this event to by sponsoring its activities. The Congress venue, the Exhibition and Congress Centre UNAM, will provide exhibition space for companies interested in promoting their products and services.
